So my first love has always been Newfoundlands. Seriously, you can not find a dog sweeter than the newfie, more loyal than the newfie, and more laid back than then newfie. So you may ask, what in the world am I breeding Newfypoos for than? Well, that is easy. So many people have said to me, "I would love a newfie, but my husband doesn't want such a big dog," or "I want a newfie but my wife says she can't stand the drool." or " I have wanted a newfie my whole life, but there is a size limit at my condo." Voila, in comes the newfypoo. Newfypoos bring the added advantage of typically having better health, longer life span, and  greater intelligence and train ability and low-to-non-shedding coats for those who have allergic reactions to Newfoundlands, or don't want to clean tons of dog hair. A dog with the loyalty and heart of a Newfoundland with the brains, the non shedding and the no drool of a poodle. The best of both worlds.

Newfypoos are quite a large dog breed. After the first month of age, this dog already weighs 3-6 lbs. on average. By the time it’s a year old, its average weight is around 65-95 lbs. This is close to the typical weight of a Standard Poodle weighing 60-70 lbs on average when fully grown. Newfoundlands are usually heavier because their weight is around 130-150 lbs.

Newfypoo Temperament

The cross between Newfoundland and Poodle typically results in a friendly, affectionate, and loyal dog.
Newfypoos are highly intelligent, loving, and protective dogs. They typically get along well with just about everyone, as long as they are properly socialized.
This breed is fiercely loyal and loving, and these dogs will always keep a protective eye on their families.
Despite this protective nature, Newfypoos are usually open to meeting new people and other dogs, and are not generally overprotective or distrusting.
This intelligent breed requires both physical and mental stimulation in order to thrive. They enjoy training and regular exercise of both mind and body.
Newfypoos typically do well with children, but young children should always be supervised.
Despite their typically friendly nature, aggression is always possible with any breed.
Proper socialization is absolutely key to raising a friendly, well-behaved pup.
